Agnieszka Sosnowska work depicts herself & others in the sparse and hard Icelandic landscape, where she has lived and worked for nearly two decades. Her images inspire trust and belief though in the end they are largely artifice; artifice based on a certain reality. In her own self-portraits, she projects herself as a strong and capable woman in the Icelandic spirit. But more universally, she successfully conveys a view of humanity in a hostile environment. Her prints are made on traditional photographic materials.
